Welcome to the Arkansas Forest Resources Center!  The Arkansas Forest Resources Center, a University of Arkansas Center of Excellence, provides an umbrella for all the University of Arkansas’ activities in forest resource teaching, research, and extension.

To support this threefold mission, the Center brings together interdisciplinary expertise from across the University System through the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture and the University of Arkansas at Monticello to better serve those whose lives and livelihoods depend on Arkansas’ forests.  The Center’s research is administered through the Agricultural Experiment Station system.  Its extension and outreach activities are coordinated through the Cooperative Extension Service, and academic programs are delivered through the School of Forest Resources.  The Center is headquartered at the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus, but its programs are statewide.

Invasive pests are on the move across the U.S. and in Arkansas.  This website will introduce you to some pests that have the potential to invade our forests and to threaten our native species.  The web site will also introduce you to some of the forest invasive pests that are already in our forests.

We invite you to explore our website.  As always, we value your feedback.  If there is information you would like to see on this site, please let us know, whether through your county extension office or through our curators, Jon Barry (jbarry@uaex.edu) and Tamara Walkingstick (twalkingstick@uaex.edu).
